What would you like to eat?

「What do you want to eat?」は完ぺきな英語ですが、あまり丁寧じゃないです。丁寧なバージョンは「What would you like to eat?」です。例えば、

What would you like to eat?         何を食べたいですか？

I'd like to eat sushi.                        お寿司を食べたいです。

Public Transport

乗り物の場合、英語はいろいろな動詞があります。一番便利な動詞はrideです。

I rode the train to Osaka.
I sometimes ride the subway.
I'm going to ride the bus home.

Rideは乗客の言葉ですが、driveは運転する人の言葉です。

I drove to Kobe.
I rode in my friend's car.

自転車とバイクの場合、rideは運転する人の言葉です。

I like to ride my bicycle.
I used to ride a big motorbike.

動物の場合、いつもrideを使います。

I have ridden a horse.
I rode a donkey when I was a kid.

Get onとget offも便利な言葉。乗る時get onを使います。降りる時get offを使います。

I got on the bus at Sanjo and got off at Kyoto station.
I made a mistake and got on the wrong train.

車とタクシーの場合、get in/get out を使います。

I got out of the taxi at Kyoto University.

飛行機は特別な動詞があります。Flyです。

I am going to fly to London.
I like flying.

大きな船も特別な動詞があります。Sailです。

I have often sailed on the Isle of Man ferry.
I would like to sail around the world.
